NOW IS ALL YOU HAVE

A whole lot is happening around us. Everything seems like a race, a distracting rat race. The various fitnah of this world, ranging from global economic crisis, COVID-19 pandemic, irresponsible governments, social expectations; to mention a few, seems to have triggered unnecessary competition in our lives, distracting us from focusing on what truly matters! Allah says:

 “The mutual rivalry for piling up of worldly things diverts you” (Qur’an 102:1).

It is understandable that frustrations are a challenge to our striving souls.  They rob us of our blessings, making us blind to realizing how precious the air we breathe is to our existence. Hence, we get carried away, either by longing for the uncertain future or peeping back at the past time, neglecting the fact that only NOW is all we have.

My dear Muslim brethren, NOW is all you have to reconnect with your purpose, and take a step out of the mirage that robs you of the beauty in the present. NOW is the moment to wake up from your slumber and pursue the essence of your creation by your Lord.

Our life span is but one day, and the present is all we have to set our affairs right. It is a second chance to regain our purpose or hold unto it, if we already understand the reason we are here, on this transient journey. The journey of UNCERTAINTY.

Now is all you have, to pray for the best of final abode.

Now is all you have, to seek forgiveness.

Now is all you have, to be grateful.

Now is all you have, to seek refuge from Shaytan.

Now is all you have, to pray for a wakeful HEART, a heart full of Sakeenah.

Let it be engraved in your heart that NOW is all you have.

Why you have to live in NOW

Allah (May He be Exalted) (Allah) said: “O Musa (Moses) I have chosen you above men by My Messages, and by My speaking (to you). So hold that which I have given you and be of the grateful”. (Qur’an 7: 144). We are blessed with this Deen. It is a favour we must hold tightly and be grateful for.  To achieve this, we need to be in tune with our present. Living in our present and putting our trust in Allah by agreeing that NOW is all we have will not only elevate our Eeman, but also protect us from anxiety, sorrow, jealousy and other diseases that lingers around the heart of man.

Muslims, you are the best of nations evolved from mankind and you must live up to the expectations of your creator. You should enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong amongst yourselves. By so doing;

You will be protected from obsession and FEAR.

You will learn to help others and comfort your heart.

You will live LIFE free of hastiness.

You will live a life free of falsefulness.

You will live a life out of superficial love, but LOVE and live for the sake of Allaah.

You will have contentment in your heart In Shaa Allaah.

The Qur’an says “ Whoever does good whether male or female and he is a believer, We will most certainly make him live a happy life, and We will most certainly give them their reward for the best of what they did” (Qur’an 16 : 97). A good life is guaranteed to those who do good deeds. Those who believe in the promises of their lord and grateful to his favours; those who live NOW!

Despite the CHAOS, tomorrow is never promised to anyone.

So, my dear Brethren, NOW is all you have.

Live it on purpose and serve your LORD as a faithful slave.
